The Richland Hospital and Clinics Welcomes Heidi Huber, APNP

Apr 8, 2024

Richland Center, WI – The Richland Hospital and Clinics is pleased to welcome Heidi Huber, APNP, to its primary care team. Huber brings experience in family medicine and oncology with a specialty in gerontology. She will be working collaboratively with Dr. Andrew Wright to provide holistic care to his adult patients.

Since 2015, Huber has practiced at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. Originally from Richland County, Huber says she is eager to move back to the area, “I’ve always wanted to return to my rural roots to serve the community that helped shape the person who I am,” she said.

Huber brings a patient-centered approach that will be a natural fit at The Richland Hospital and Clinics. “I like to partner with patients to know what’s important to them in their health care,” she says. For her, building relationships with patients and their families is foundational to good care. “From there, we can look forward to meeting the milestones that are important to them.”

Huber’s passion for gerontology, or caring for people as they age, was fostered, in part, by her childhood experiences. “I was fortunate to have relationships with all of my grandparents and three great-grandparents,” Huber says. In high school, she began working in a nursing home as a certified nursing assistant and found the work fulfilling.

While completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Huber participated in a clinical rotation at TRHC. Her approach and experience impressed The Richland Hospital and Clinics team who are eager to welcome her back. Patients interested in meeting with Huber can call the hospital to schedule an appointment at 608-647-6321.
