FACILITY REPLACEMENT PROJECT

In 2018, through a master facility plan exercise, The Richland Hospital and Clinics board of directors determined the need for a facility replacement, due to more than $20 million in required improvements to the existing facility (at that time).
The former Koch Tractor site and a parcel owned by Premier Cooperative were purchased in November 2021 – 40 acres at approximately $1.2 million.
Thorough environmental testing of the build site has been performed and all demolition and remediation of existing buildings conducted with a focus on recycling of building products, as possible.
A project manager, MedCraft, was hired in February 2023 and a design team, BWBR, was onboarded in March 2023.
All TRHC staff will be represented in multiple committee and user group meetings throughout the design process.

The project feasibility study and USDA loan guarantee application were completed and submitted before June 6, 2023.
USDA will issue a response no later than September 30, 2023.
Formal plans for the demolition or reuse of the existing/aged facility are pending.
