THE RICHLAND HOSPITAL AND CLINICS FACILITY REPLACEMENT PROJECT

  • In 2018, through a master facility plan exercise, The Richland Hospital and Clinics board of directors determined the need for a facility replacement, due to more than $20 million in required improvements to the existing facility (at that time).
  • The former Koch Tractor site and a parcel owned by Premier Cooperative were purchased in November 2021 – 40 acres at approximately $1.2 million.
  • Thorough environmental testing of the build site has been performed and all demolition and remediation of existing buildings conducted with a focus on recycling of building products, as possible.
  • A project manager, MedCraft, was hired in February 2023 and a design team, BWBR, was onboarded in March 2023.
  • All TRHC staff will be represented in multiple committee and user group meetings throughout the design process.
  • Public meetings will be scheduled for input.  See our Events page (LINK) for opportunities.
  • The project feasibility study and USDA loan guarantee application were completed and submitted before June 6, 2023.
  • USDA will issue a response no later than September 30, 2023.
  • Formal plans for the demolition or reuse of the existing/aged facility are pending.
