Richland Center, WI –
The Richland Hospital and Clinics (TRHC) is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Brian Kroll to the family medicine team.
Dr. Kroll earned his degrees from the University of Iowa and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He joins us after completing his residency at the Waukesha Family Medicine Clinic, providing comprehensive care to patients in an organization similar to TRHC.
A couple of key experiences directed Dr. Kroll to family medicine. Before undergraduate studies, Dr. Kroll participated in a seven-week Swahili immersion program which broadened his world view and allowed him to become conversationally fluent in Swahili. This experience peaked his interests in providing medicine to rural communities.
Then, in undergraduate school, Dr. Kroll played football for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes while planning on becoming a teacher and coach. Unfortunately, he was injured after his second year, which expanded his interests in medicine.
Dr. Kroll looks forward to practicing in a smaller community and being able to give back. He also believes the focus of family medicine should be what the patient – and community – needs, not what his specific needs or interests are: “As a family doctor, I listen to the whole person and figure out what they need in that moment. Then the continuity – following up, being there for them with their downs and celebrating them on their wins – is why I’m a doctor.”
When not in the office, you can find Dr. Kroll outside being active. He enjoys golfing, hiking, and competing in triathlons. As an avid bicyclist, he looks forward to getting his bike out and enjoying the scenery both here and on nearby bike trails. Dr. Kroll also plans to cheer on our local athletic teams.
