Richland Center, WI: The Richland Hospital and Clinics honored this year’s DAISY Award nominees and winner. This national recognition program celebrates nurses exclusively for their skill, care and compassion. “They do so much but expect so little in return,” commented Carolyn Anderson, Director of Quality Resources, as she kicked off the event.

Interim Chief Nursing Officer Linda Tyler Doudna, along with Anderson, read the heartfelt stories submitted by patients for each of the nominees. Words like, “compassionate, caring, kindness, assurance” echoed across the pages, along with phrases such as, “constant smile” and “puts my mind at ease.”. Nominees Allison Ewing, Lacey Hodge, Briana Gander, Stephanie Gander, Sydney Lins, Rhonda Mueller, and Erin Nortey were each handed a recognition pin in honor of their outstanding care given without hesitation. Finally, the 2025 winner was revealed: Alex Marshall! “Every one of us is deserving of this award. I’m just thankful to be a part of a great team,” said Alex, as he accepted the award. According to his nomination, “Alex just did everything right and really took charge of the situation…he continued to keep up on her progress even after she was transferred.” Alex has spent 19 years at TRHC, starting as a Certified Nursing Assistant and now works as an RN, Nurse Director, Med/Surg.

“I want to thank all nurses for choosing nursing as a career and for the skill, care and compassion you give to your patients,” added Linda Tyler-Doudna. This presentation proved it is both noticed and appreciated.
