Nathan Humphreys-Loving, RN, is the most recent recipient of DAISY Award

Richland Center, WI – Nathan Humphreys-Loving, a registered nurse with The Richland Hospital and Clinics (TRHC), was recognized last week with a DAISY Award for extraordinary nursing. Humphreys-Loving has served as an RN for the organization since 2021 and currently works in the intensive care unit (ICU).

ICU Director Rachel Fruit says Humphreys-Loving is a deserving recipient: “Nathan has made an incredible impact here at TRHC since starting and has taken big steps as a leader.” Humphreys-Loving currently serves on the Nurse Practice Council as the lead nurse for the ICU.

The DAISY Award recognizes outstanding nurses for the extraordinary work that they do every day. The award was established in 1999, and there are now more than 5,000 organizations around the world that participate in the DAISY Awards.

Humphreys-Loving was nominated by Jordan Crary, a fellow nurse who called out his attentiveness and willingness to teach as qualities that make him a remarkable nurse. “Nate is a prime example of a nurse that goes above and beyond for both his patients and his colleagues every day. He never hesitates to educate, advocate, and provide the very best care possible for his patients,” said Crary.

Crary was moved to nominate Humphreys-Loving when she saw how his attentive care made a difference for a patient. In her nomination, she told a story about a time when Humphreys-Loving noticed a subtle change in a patient’s telemetry and took action. “Because of Nate’s drive to ensure patient safety, a rapid response was called and this patient received prompt care to prevent further issues,” Crary’s nomination said.

Humphreys-Loving was one of four nurses nominated for the award this quarter. Jordan Crary, Rachel Fruit, and Ashley Klingaman were also nominated. “It’s an honor to be recognized alongside such an outstanding group of nurses,” Humphreys-Loving stated during the ceremony.

The Richland Hospital and Clinics is a nationally awarded health care facility dedicated to caring, educating, and healing. Providing compassionate care for nearly 100 years to residents of the greater Richland County area, TRHC operates an independent, integrated group medical practice in three locations, including rural health clinics in Spring Green and Muscoda and a critical access hospital at its primary health center in Richland Center, WI.
