March 8 – International Women’s Day

Apr 15, 2024

The photo above shows The Richland Hospital staff in 1949. You’ll notice that most of the staff are women. Throughout the history of The Richland Hospital, women have been the backbone and heartbeat of our organization, providing the care and expertise that have helped us thrive for 100 years.

The Richland Hospital and Clinics even has women to thank for its first location. The Bailey Mansion, which was the hospital’s first home, was purchased by the Federation of Women’s Clubs of Richland Center.

In fact, on a national level, women provide the bulk of labor in health care and the social assistance sector. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2021 women made up over 77 percent of the total workforce in these industries.

We’re proud to recognize the 360 women who are a vital part of our staff today, including the nine physicians, 10 APNPs, two PAs, one CNM, and 25 individuals holding director or executive-level positions.
