Diabetes Self-Management Education

The Richland Hospital Diabetes Education Program is dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by diabetes by promoting self-management and empowerment. Our Diabetes Education Program is covered by most health insurances.

In addition to the Diabetes Self-Management Class, Richland Hospital also conducts a Diabetes Support Group.

Included in Your Diabetes Education Program

  • An individual assessment and training with the nurse educator
  • An individual consult with the dietitian
  • Three group education classes

(Further individual education is available for special circumstances.)

Group Classes Meet

  • The first Monday night of each month, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm, or
  • The first Thursday morning of each month, 9:00 am – 11:00 am

Free Diabetes Support Group

Live life to its fullest by taking care of your disease. Uncontrolled diabetes can cause major health problems, such as amputation or blindness. Therefore, it is important to keep your blood sugar levels as close to normal as possible. Take your diabetes medicine, choose foods wisely, stay active and reduce your stress level. Join others living with Diabetes at the next Free Diabetes Support Group Meeting.

Diabetes Support Group Meetings are the Third Tuesday each month, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
