The Richland Hospital Respiratory Care Department offers comprehensive respiratory care support and services for adults and children dealing with respiratory ailments, including COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), bronchitis and pneumonia. Respiratory Care practitioners provide care to all patients staying at the Richland Hospital and Emergency Department for patients of all ages seven days per week.
Pulmonary Function Testing
Outpatient pulmonary function testing, for the diagnosis and evaluation of the progression of respiratory diseases, is available seven days per week by physician referral and appointment.
Our Staff & Services
Our Respiratory Care team works closely with each patient’s physician and other members of the health care team. The Respiratory Therapists provide assessment of the patient’s respiratory needs and to provide therapy, diagnostic evaluations and education to promote respiratory health. Services include:

- Airway clearance modalities
- Oxygen therapy
- Discharge planning

- Coordinate home medical equipment needs

This program provides rehabilitation and support services to patients with various respiratory ailments including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD—emphysema, asthma and bronchitis). The program is aimed at educating patients and their family members about chronic lung disease and ways to improve respiratory health. A physician referral is needed to participate Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
