The Obstetrics team at The Richland Hospital, Inc. truly enjoys working with expectant parents to make pregnancy, birth and post-birth a healthy and pleasant experience. Many families have given birth to all of their children at The Richland Hospital, Inc. and count the dedication and care from their physician and obstetrics team as part of the joy of adding a new member to the family.

Janice Alexander, MD

Board Certified in Family Practice and Obstetrics/Gynecology

  • Medical School at Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, MI.
  • Family Practice and OB Residencies at Providence Hospital and Medical Center, Southfield, MI; OB/Gynecology.
  • Residency at Saginaw General Hospital, Sagnaw, MI.

Dr. Alexander began her career in medicine as a volunteer at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She then went to work as a Nurses Aid and LPN in Dearborn, Michigan. She completed her BSN at Wayne State University in 1971. While working as a CCU/ICU nurse at University Hospital, she completed her pre-med courses at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She then went on to Medical School at Wayne State University. She continues to serve on the Alumni Board of her Alma Mater.

Dr. Alexander is double boarded in both Family Practice and OB/GYN. She started her practice in a small town in Michigan. She worked in the ER in Detroit, Michigan while her children were young. She continued to have a passion for OB/GYN and decided to do a second Residency in OB/GYN. Dr. Alexander has had thriving practices in Milwaukee, WI and Arcadia, WI. She worked for the Mayo Health System for the last eight years before joining Richland Hospital. She is a Clinical Professor at Marquette University and has been a Clinical Instructor for the UW/Medical College/School of Nursing Program in Milwaukee.


David May, MD

Family Practice; Board Certified

  • Medical School at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Cincinnati, OH.
  • Family Medicine Residency at Valley Medical Center, Renton, WA.

Dr. David May grew up in the small town of Port Clinton, Ohio. There, the small town was the county seat and has a small hospital. He has known since medical school that he wanted to practice general medicine in a small town with its own hospital and has since expressed continued excitement to be apart of the Richland Center community.

Dr. May’s hope is to continue developing a full spectrum practice including newborns, children, adolescents, adults both men and women, pregnant women, and geriatric and nursing home patients.

He and his wife, Maggie, are outdoor people who enjoy camping, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, mountain and road biking.

Dr. May looks forward to working towards establishing a regular patient population that he knows well and who learns to know him well. “With a strong doctor-patient relationship, the practice of medicine and the patient experience are both much better,” said Dr. David May.


Jennifer Myszkowski, MD

Family Practice; Board Certified

  • Medical School at The Medical School of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI.
  • Residency and Internship at Duluth Family Practice Center in Duluth, MN.

The Richland Hospital’s Birth Center staff works hard to make your baby’s birthday an extra-special event for you and your family. Having been a patient at the Richland Hospital, Dr. Myszkowski said she can attest personally to the outstanding medical care that she received. The skilled, compassionate nurses worked hard to anticipate her needs during her stay. And, they worked with her and her husband to ensure their birth plan was followed.

“As a physician, I know that getting ready for your new baby is a great adventure, and that you will have lots of questions along the way. I am here to make the toughest challenges easier. When the big day comes, I will bring medical expertise and support to your family’s special day,” said Dr. Jennifer Myszkowski.


Christine Richards, MD

Family Practice; Board Certified

  • Medical School at University of Illinois Medical School.
  • Residency in Lancaster, PA.

Dr. Christine Richards completed her family practice residency in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. There she received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and studied medicine at the University of Illinois-Chicago, where she graduated with honors.

Dr. Richards serves a wide range of patients, from newborns to nursing home residents. She is particularly interested in obstetrics and women’s health issues and will begin take new patients immediately.

In her spare time, Dr. Richards enjoys cooking, reading, running, and spending time with her husband, John.


Jenna Sebranek, MD

Family Practice; Board Certified

  • Medical School at University of Wisconsin-Madison, Madison, WI
  • Residency at Mayo Family Medicine, La Crosse, WI

Dr. Jenna Sebranek has a passion for women’s health and obstetrics, and provides a full range of family medicine to people of all ages. Being a Richland Center native, Dr. Sebranek knew she wanted to practice medicine in a small hospital. Today, she gets to practice what she loves at a place she has respected for a long time.

During residency in La Crosse, WI, Dr. Sebranek cared for many women through their first pregnancies and deliveries of their first children. Some of those same patients were pregnant a second time under her care, but she had completed her residency before she could deliver any patient’s second child. She really looks forward to building a practice and seeing her patients through multiple deliveries. She is excited to create a great connection that comes from being a family doctor for generations of people.

When speaking about exploring careers, Dr. Sebranek said, “I don’t remember ever wanting to be anything else.”


Jillian Scherer, MD

Family Practice; Board Certified

  • Medical School at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, Maywood, IL.
  • Family Medicine residency at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Waukesha, WI. Family Medical – Womens Health Fellowship at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Waukesha, WI.

Dr. Scherer and her husband chose to relocate to this area because Dr. Scherer wants to have a full OB practice and she and her husband want to raise their son in a small town.

As a family practice doctor who delivers babies, our area provides great opportunity for her to help a wide range of patients. Her specialized training in C-Section surgery also makes her a valuable addition to the Richland Hospital obstetrics team.

Dr. Scherer enjoys kayaking, golfing, bike riding and spending time with her husband and son.


Andrew Wright, MD

Family Practice; Board Certified

  • Medical School at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
  • Residency at Marshall University, Huntington, WV.
  • Rural Family Medicine Fellowship with an emphasis in Obstetrics at Tacoma Family Medicine in Tacoma, WA.

Dr. Andy Wright is a member of the medical teams at Muscoda Health Center and Richland Hospital.

He provides full-service health care to all members of your family, ranging from newborns to seasoned elders. With advanced obstetrical training, he welcomes the opportunity to be part of your birthing team, whether you are preparing for your first child or welcoming a new member to your family. Dr. Wright has special training in performing Cesarean Sections, should that become necessary.

Dr. Wright’s hobbies and interests include spending time with family, playing basketball, running, swimming, and playing soccer.
