1-25-2007 Quarterly Meeting Minutes

WELCOME/PRAYER/BRUNCH

Co-President Ruth Anderson welcomed members to our Quarterly Meeting.  Norbert Calnin led us in prayer, followed by brunch, prepared by the Dietary Department of the hospital.

GUEST SPEAKER

Philomena Poole, APNP was introduced by Ruth Anderson.  Phil works with Dr. Robert Smith at the Richland Medical Center.  She is a Certified Geriatric Nurse Prescriber.  She spoke to us about Fibromyalgia-----what it is, signs and symptoms, causes, risk factors, when to see the doctor, diagnosis, complications, treatment, coping skills and complimentary and alternative medicine.  Most of us have some of the signs & symptoms, which makes it very hard to diagnose.  We were given a handout.  A very interesting and informative presentation.

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER

The business meeting was called to order by Co-President Lynette Schwichtenberg at 9:45 a.m.

GUESTS

Phyllis Keller introduced her guest, Pat Joseph.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF LAST MEETING—Patty Pulvermacher

Moved by Ruth Anderson and seconded by Kay Wyman to approve the minutes as printed.  Motion carried.

FINANCIAL REPORT—Patty Pulvermacher

The December Financial Report was reviewed, to include all of our fundraisers this past year.  We have 3 C.D.s with a value at this time of $19,436.32.  For some time, we have been donating $1500 per quarter to the Foundation, designated for the future patient room remodeling .   We donated $13,125 to the Foundation in 2006.   In 2006, we gave $5000 towards scholarships.  We are talking about increasing that amount in 2007.  Recently, the Board voted to donate $25 to the Foundation, as a memorial, whenever one of our members passes away, beginning in October.  We have remembered Gerry Quist and Bernice Erickson.  Our checking balance 12/31/06 was $18,842.20.

MEMBERSHIP REPORT—Patty Pulvermacher

In our January, 2007 Newsletter,  the following notice was given:  In an effort to better keep track of our membership, the Executive Committee has made a policy that anyone who has not paid his or her dues for three (3) consecutive years will be dropped from the membership list.  If you no longer wish to be a member of Partners, you should notify the membership chair.  The chairman for 2007 is Patty Pulvermacher.  Her phone number is 647-4520.  We hope that all of you will want to remain members.  Your membership is important to the viability of Partners.  Dues are still $5 per year or $100 for a lifetime membership.  If you do not know what year you are paid through, contact Patty and she will help you.  If you have any other questions, please contact Ruth Anderson – 585-3092.  Thank you for your help in this matter.

We have 145 members----9 are lifetime members.  As of yesterday, 48 were paid for 2007.  We have 42 Volunteens.

We have two new members today:  Rosie Wheat and Joyce Everhart.  Welcome.

LOBBY SHOPPE REPORT—Kay Wyman

We have a lot of new gifts.  We are re-arranging things to make them look better.  Think of us when you need a gift.   Suggestions are welcome.
