Each year, the Alzheimer’s Association – Wisconsin Chapter Network recognizes outstanding caregivers in Wisconsin. These awards recognize family caregivers, organizations, a program or agency, professionals, physicians, media representatives, legislators, and / or advocates who serve and support individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. Winners were recognized at the 23rd Annual State Conference on Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders held, May 3-5. This year, Richland Center’s Dr. Robert Smith, Medical Director for the Richland Area Geriatric Assessment Clinic, was honored. Following are remarks that were read at the award presentation.

Dr. Smith Spoke at National Health Policy Forum in D.C. PDF Print E-mail

Dr. Robert Smith, a family practice physician at Richland Medical Center, will joined three speakers from across the U.S. to participate in the National Health Policy Forum in Washington D.C., Friday, October 19, 2007.

According to the National Health Policy Forum website at www.nhpf.org/index.htm, “The National Health Policy Forum sought to inform the public policy process by helping participants—federal health policymakers in the legislative and executive branches and in congressional support agencies—engage in rigorous, constructive, and respectful dialogue. This multi-faceted approach helped participants navigate the difficult decisions that confront them and provided a common point of reference for their deliberations and problem solving.”
