Childbirth Preparation Class (The Lamaze Method)

Babies don't arrive with care instructions which is why The Richland Hospital's Birth Center takes those extra steps to help you and others in your family prepare for those exciting times ahead. Childbirth preparation will enable you to approach this experience with confidence and dignity. Both expectant mother and father are encouraged to attend to gain insight into pregnancy and how to be confident as new parents. Here are some of the things you will learn.

When to come to the hospital
Breathing and relaxation exercises
Discussion of the phases of labor and delivery
Overview of Cesarean birth
Medication during labor
Warning signs of pregnancy complications
What to expect during the first few days at home
Infant care and feeding

Classes runs from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM

Call The Birth Center at The Richland Hospital 647-6321, Extension 2380. Register as early as possible, as class size is limited. It is best to attend a course that completes nearest to your due date. The cost is $35.00

Wear loose fitting slacks or shorts and bring two pillows and a blanket to class.
