RICHLAND
HOSPITAL
The Partners serves as a very useful
direct link to the community. It
is comprised of men and women who volunteer their time for various
activities throughout the year. Partners
operate the gift/coffee shop and the book cart, which contains books and
magazines for patient use. This
very active group also provides a patient escort service and supports the
Volunteen program. They also
conduct fundraising events during the year with the proceeds directed
toward the purchase of hospital equipment, implementing of new programs
and providing health occupations scholarships.
THE LOBBY SHOPPE
A coffee/gift shop is located on the first floor off the main lobby.
It is open Monday through Friday,
7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Food selections include:
beverages, sandwiches, soup, desserts and various snack items.
There is a variety of small commercial and handmade gift items as
well as a large selection of greeting cards.
Vending machines for pop and snacks are located in the patient
discharge area, the cafeteria and first floor near the Emergency Room.
SPECIAL NEEDS
Services of an interpreter are available for patients not speaking
English or using sign language. For
assistance with this service, ask your nurse to contact the Hospitals
social services personnel.
ETHICS CONSULTATION SERVICES
The
model used for ethics case consultation is a qualified facilitation model,
which includes the utilization of an external ethics consultant working
with an on-site core consultation team formed from the Ethics Committee.
The ethics consultant is determined by consensus among members of
the Ethics Committee and administration of The Richland Hospital.
Purpose:
1.
Assist in identifying and analyzing ethical
conflict or uncertainty by:

gathering relevant data,
·
clarifying relevant conceptual issues,
·
clarifying related normative issues, and
·
helping to identify a range of morally acceptable
options.
2.
Assist in the resolution of ethical conflict or
uncertainty by:
·
facilitating the building of consensus among
concerned parties,
·
ensuring that all concerned parties have been
heard,
·
assisting concerned parties in clarifying their own
values, and
·
facilitating the building of morally acceptable
shared commitments or understandings.
